Duet was released for sale in September 1998. It is the model that received the OEM supply from Daihatsu Storia. It is two-box sedan type with four door + tailgate, equipped with a characteristic vertical large irregular-shaped multi-reflector head lamp and plating bumper mall. As it can be seen at features, such as having a manageable body size of the full length 3660mm and heightened front seating point with enhanced better visibility, Duet focuses on the user-friendliness for daily use. Interior has an integrated instrument panel of rich curved surface configuration, and leather seats are available depending on the grade. In addition, it has a variety of storage spaces, such as a basket-type tray on the passenger side, steering under-box on the driver side, and a large coin box on the side of driver's seat. Engine is available in either 1 litter or 1.3 litter, and each engines have four-cylinder VVT-i mechanism. When it comes to safety equipment, ABS, brake with assist mechanism and dual SRS airbags are standard equipment for all models.
