The Pajero Mini added the genre of off-road 4WD mini vehicle in December 1994. It was styled in the image of the Pajero as a classical 4WD car. It has the stable outside appearance achieved through wide B-pillar, which is the characteristic of Pajero series. A customed 4WD system, “easy select 4WD”, which was specially developed for Pajero Mini, enables excellent bad-road driving performances and is remarkable. This 4WD system allows drivers to switch between 2WD and 4WD on the move by a simple operation. The current model had its full model change in October 1998, due to new regulations. Several significant changes have been made in the content of the model, such as enlarging the body size and adopting a 4-speed AT. The smoothness of driving has increased dramatically. It is also interesting that Mitsubishi manufactures Pajero Mini as FR layout 2WD for users who only desire the design of the Pajero Mini.
