Mazda RX-8

RX-8, released for sale in April 2003, has been known as a brand icon of Mazda. It is a 4 door/4 seater sports car with unique styling, which provides a fun driving experience. The design was made based on the idea of “sports car dynamism”. By adopting a front fender with a big relief design and a hood bulge with the image of rotor type, it has vibrant and lively feeling, which is suitable for sports car. In order to lighten the body and distribute the weight equally on front body and rear body, it adopted the front midship that the center of gravity is positioned behind the front axle. Because of these features, it improved its performance level, comfortability and quietness. Moreover, in order to enable smooth getting on and off of the seat, it adopted center open type free style door. Since there is no center piller on body side, it ensures a large door opening space of about 900mm size. As the basic theme of the interior design, it focuses on comfortable wrapped feeling. Commitments for high driving performance can be seen at its 4 seater bucket seats with enhanced holdability and tachometer, which is engraved up to 10,000 rotation. Its engine is a new generation rotary engine “RENESIS”. “RENESIS” is the conventional engine to significantly reduce the intake resistance. Although it has a natural aspiration of double of 654cc, it provides the highest output 184KW(250PS) at high unit power. It also improved unit consumption and exhaust emissions. Thus, all models of RX-8 have obtained “Superior and low emission gas” certification.
