Speaking of the S-Class, out of the Mercedes-Benz models, it is a car particularly of high performance, superior comfort as well as with sense luxury. Despite of wide variety of Mercedes-Benz cars, the positioning of the S-Class has not changed even today. The body of the S-Class is large as seen in the cities in Japan. The standard body for S-Class, the overall length of 5045mm and width of 1855mm, is 50mm longer in length, 25mm wider in width and 40mm bigger in around the wheel base compared to Celsior. When it comes to the long body specifications, which has “L” at the end of its model name, full-length becomes even longer (5165mm). Although the entire length of the long body specification “L” does not reach the one of Century by about 100mm, it still can be considered as a car which has interior almost the space of limousine. There are 3 line-ups for S-Class standard body types and 2 line-ups for long body specification “L” types, depending on the engine the car is equipped with. As for standard body types, engine with 3.2 liter V-type 6-cylinder is called “S320”, engine with 3.2 liter V-type 8-cylinder is called “S430”, and engine with 5 liter V-type 8-cylinder is called “S500”. As for long body specification “L” types, engine with 5 liter V-type 8-cylinder is called “S500L”, and engine with 5.7 liter V-12 cylinder is called “S600L”. It has been set with fan for ventilating the moisture inside the sheet to every part.
